STORYLINE –

The superhero Atom (Ray Palmer) faces a devastating plague that sweeps through New Morlaidh, the hidden city of six-inch-tall aliens in the Amazon jungle. As panic grips the miniature society, the desperate populace blames the Atom and his lover, Princess Laethwen, forcing him to fight a horrific threat to protect his new home.

This 48-page double-sized issue acts as the final chapter of the Sword of the Atom era. It sets up the immediate destruction of the Amazon colony by outside loggers/government agents, which ultimately forces Ray Palmer to return to regular civilization and marks the launch of his subsequent monthly series, The Power of the Atom (1988).
